GATT Disputes

GATT disputes involved a wide range of products, including cereals, meat and dairy products, fruit, tobacco products, hides and skins, textiles and apparel, petroleum and gasoline, aircraft, semiconductors, videocassette players, and even seal pups and Antarctic research vessels.

Although the distinction between agricultural and non-agricultural products was introduced only as a result of the Uruguay Round of trade negotiations (1986-1994), the products at issue in GATT disputes can also be classified according to the definition of agricultural products in Annex 1 of the Agreement on Agriculture. On this basis, this database allows users to generate statistics and visualizations using this classification.
