| Additional Info | C/M/251 (26/08/1991) Minutes of Council Meeting (11/07/1991) Panel established on 12/01/1988 (SR.43/5) following consultations under L/6218 and the request of establishment. The Panel was not activated because of a bilateral agreement between the EEC and the US allowing import of US meats into the EEC. On 01/01/1991 EEC halted imports of US beef, pork and lamb. New complaint by the US DS20/1 was more comprehensive than request L/6218, which therefore requested the disestablishment of the former Panel on the establishment of the new Panel. The EEC doubted whether the issue should be considered as a new request or a continuation of the earlier panel process. Council took note, to revert at its next meeting. |
