| Additional Info | C/M/213 (26/10/1987) Minutes of Council Meeting (07/10/1987) Request of establishment of a panel. There was no consensus. C/M/215 (25/11/1987) Minutes of Council Meeting (10-11/11/1987) EEC was not in favour of a Panel establishment. SR.43/5 (12/01/1988) Summary of Fifth Meeting of CP Forty-Third Session (03/12/1987) Panel was established. C/M/251 (26/08/1991) Minutes of Council Meeting (11/07/1991) Panel established SR.43/5 (12/01/1988) [following consultations under document L/6218 and request for establishment] was not activated because of the bilateral agreement between the EEC-US, which allowed import of US meats. 01/01/1991 EEC halted imports of US beef, pork and lamb. US new complaint (DS20/1) more comprehensive than L/6218, requesting the disestablishment of the former Panel on the establishment of a new Panel. EEC doubted whether the US issue should be considered as a new request or a continuation of the earlier panel process. The Council took note, to revert at its next meeting. |
